Tzamenkomst River Lodge

A Place of Togetherness-Tzamenkomst

A rich and diverse history lovingly transformed into a symphony of style, beauty and peace. A story that will need more than one visit to capture the full essence of this masterfully crafted sanctuary on the banks of the Orange River. I was delighted when Marc asked me to update their photo portfolio after the addition of the new Porcupine Lodge.

This lodge is situated at the convergence of the majestic Orange River and the Oorlogspruit, 25km north of Colesberg, just off the N1 in the Northern Cape.

The Adams family has done extensive upgrades to now offer 2 River Lodges and a Bird Hide. The original stables, famed for hosting Gary Players stud horses, have also been converted into spacious accommodation at the edge of the Pecan nut orchards.

Over 30 species of game can be viewed on pre-booked game drives as well as an abundance of birdlife.

Tzamenkomst River Lodge offers world class fishing of small and large mouth yellow fish. The many natural pools right in front of both lodges makes for a peaceful family activity. Or lazily basking on the sundecks near the pool. Every Lodge room is tastefully decorated with comfort and panache, all in full view of the peaceful river. Gourmet meals are served in the world class Boma overlooking the river. There’s a golden shimmer on the river in the afternoon sun, not to mention the serene, mystical sun rises. This wildlife sanctuary is a true hidden gem.
